Hi I’m Alex! It’s nice to get to know you. I live on a vegetable CSA farm in Northcentral Wisconsin with my dog Leila and my two buff orange cats Eugene and Linus. I’ve been working on this farm for six years now and find the work fulfilling and challenging. I love that every season and its challenges are different, keeping you on your toes and wondering what exactly will be the hardest thing before each season starts. I raise chickens in my off hours. I started off raising laying hens, providing our customers with an egg add-on to their weekly CSA boxes and soon added two batches of broilers per season. After a culmination of severe burnout I dropped the laying hen enterprise and stuck with broilers. Since starting at the farm, I have become a fiber enthusiast learning to weave, spin, wash and prepare wool, dye, and crochet. In 2023, I started growing flax and I found the flax process intriguing. I am here to explore and share all things flax to linen and to explore other topics in agriculture, the fiber industry, and maybe a bit of our fast fashion culture. Let’s see where this blog takes us!
